Frequently Asked Questions regarding e-Profile
- Q: What is e-Profile?
- A: e-Profile is an Employee Self-Service computer program
used by employees to change personal information. You can add and
update your emergency contact information, home e-mail, home phone
number, address, name or martial status. No more forms! You can access
this from any Internet-capable computer, day or night!
- Q: What is Employee Self Service?
- A: e-Profile is just one more piece to the Employee Self-Service
tools that is being put together. Employee Self Service tools, such
as e-Benefits (online benefits enrollment) and e-Pay,
provide a high level of convenience for you. With just a few clicks
at any Internet-capable computer, you’re able to accomplish
what normally takes a trip to Human Resources, time filling out forms
and then time for those forms to be entered into a computer. These
tools make normal paperwork quicker and easier. You may see more
Employee Self Service tools in the future.
- Q: Why are we switching to e-Profile?
- A: More and more, the day-to-day activities of doing business are
moving online and managing a workplace in this manner is efficient
and convenient for everyone involved. Utilizing e-Profile also
helps Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa be better stewards
of our financial resources. We have recently added more online capabilities
to help all employees manage their own needs, such as online e-Benefits and e-Pay.
We will continue these types of initiatives in the future because
we continue to hear that the move online is a positive one. Even
those who do not use computers regularly are finding that online
forms are simple to use and accurate.
- Q: Is e-Profile secure?
- A: Yes, e-Profile is very secure. Each user has their
own personal user ID and password to ensure that no one else can
view their information. Passwords can be changed at any time. E-Profile also
uses the same URL that benefits enrollment and open enrollment utilize.
The highest level of security is used and you can rest assured that
your information is secure. No security breaches have occurred in e-Benefits enrollment
or e-Pay.
- Q: What if I do not have a computer or the Internet at home?

work. The goal is to have computers conveniently located near all
units and departments at all Mercy – North Iowa facilities
for you to use.
