Mercy Names Senior Vice President of Physician Integration

Paul Manternach, M.D.MASON CITY - Paul Manternach, M.D. has been named Senior Vice President of Physician Integration for Mercy Medical Center – North Iowa. The position was vacated by the January retirement of Ron Larsen, M.D. Dr. Manternach will begin his duties on August 11.

Dr. Manternach began his professional career at Mercy – North Iowa in 1993 as a resident of Mercy Family Medicine Residency, where he was named chief resident during his third and final year. After graduating from the residency program, he became a staff physician in Mercy – North Iowa’s Emergency and Trauma Center and in 2002 was named Medical Director of the Center. Dr. Manternach left Mercy – North Iowa in 2003 to practice medicine in Dubuque.

Dr. Manternach graduated from Grinnell College with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1989. In 1993, he received his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. Memberships include the American College of Emergency Physicians, American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Association of Physician Specialists.

Dr. Manternach, his wife Jill, and their children, Olivia, 10; Michael, 7; Thomas, 5; and Marie, 3, will be relocating to the Mason City/Clear Lake area.
