Support Services
Program Coordinator/Nurse Case Manager
They provide the following services:
- Knowledgeable source of support and information during a very stressful time
- Intermediary between the patient, family and physicians - assists in compiling the appropriate medical records needed for appointments
- Communicates the course and purpose of appointments; works closely with physician offices to expedite scheduling of consultations, tests and procedures
- Resource for questions or concerns related to overall care experience
Healing Touch
Healing touch is an energy based therapeutic approach to healing. The therapy uses touch to influence the energy system and affects the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health.
The Cancer Center offers Healing Touch to our patients free of charge. To schedule an appointment please talk to your health care team.
Spiritual Care
A Chaplain is available when you need a safe, supportive presence, an objective listener, help in clarifying an ethical decision, concern with grief and loss issues, or prayer - regardless of your faith or belief system.
American Cancer Society Navigator
The American Cancer Society Navigator has an office in Mercy Cancer Center and is available to speak to during appointment hours; the ACS provides resources in the following areas:
- Transportation
- Durable Medical Equipment
- Head Coverings for Treatment Induced Hair Loss
- Financial Resources
- Educational Material
- Lodging
- Look Good - Feel Better Program
Other support services include:
- Nutrition consultations
- Music Therapy,
- Pharmaceutical Consultations
Living With Cancer and Beyond
A support group committed to improving the quality of life for all people touched by cancer. The group is open to anyone affected by cancer. Meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month from 3:00pm-4:30pm or 7:00pm-8:30pm in the Jan Walters Conference room on the second floor of the Cancer Center. Please feel free to join us.
