Cardiac Support Groups
The Cardiac Support Group is co-sponsored by Mercy Heart Center and the Cerro Gordo Chapter of the American Heart Association. The purpose of the group is to provide an opportunity for cardiac patients and their families to learn about coronary artery disease. Meetings usually are held the last Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. in the auditorium of Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa, east campus, 1000 4th Street SW, Mason City. Mended Hearts Inc.
Mended Hearts, Inc. is an extended support group for heart patients. There are currently over two hundred Mended Hearts chapters throughout the U.S. There is a chapter at Mercy-North Iowa which meets monthly and features presentations by health providers. One of the most important aspects of Mended Hearts is its visiting program. Contact 641-422-7597 for more information.
