Appointments at Mercy Heart Center Women's Clinic can be made directly or via referral from your family physician. Insurance coverage varies between providers and diagnosis.
If heart disease is suspected, further evaluation may include exercise electrocardiography, pharmacologic stress perfusion imaging, echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, or myocardial perfusion imaging.
Symptoms of heart disease are different for women and may include:
- Feeling breathless, often without chest pain of any kind
- Flu-like symptoms - specifically nausea, clamminess, or cold sweats
- Unexplained fatigue, weakness, or dizziness
- Pain in chest, upper back, shoulders, neck, or jaw
- Feelings of anxiety
- Stomach or abdominal pain
- Discomfort, fullness, tightness, squeezing or pressure in center of chest that stays for more than a few minutes or comes and goes.
